YMCA YOUTH CENTRE, BHIMTAL

Location

The YMCA Youth Centre is located in Bhimtal town of Nainital District in the State of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated at an altitude of 1370 metres above mean sea level and is about 22 kilometres from Nainital. The nearest Railway Station and the Mofussil Bus Stand are in Kathgodam in about 23 kms from the YMCA Youth Centre, Bhimtal.

The Climate

The climate of Bhimtal is pleasant and salubrious during Summer Season with the temperature of 15 degree C to 29 degree C and very cold during winter season with the temperature of 4 degree C to 18-degree C.

Facilities

The YMCA Youth Centre, Bhimtal is established with the intension of serving the people, especially the Youth and Tourists with the following facilities.

    1. Two Nos of Double-Bedded family rooms with the facility for the additional beds on payment.

    2. Four Dormitories with 62 Beds, one Dormitory with 30 beds, one Dormitory with 10 Beds, one Dormitory with 16 Beds and one Dormitory with 6 Beds.

    3. Dining Hall with seating capacity of about 40 persons.

    4. One Conference Hall to accommodate 80 persons, ideal for Retreats, Seminars, Conferences, Training Programmes and etc.

    5. Parking facility available for two wheelers and four wheelers.

    6. Lawn: A beautiful lawn of about 3350 Square Feet is maintained in order to add natural beauty to the Centre.

    7. A Clinical facility and mobile medical facility are available in our centre for any medical emergency.

ATTRACTIONS OF TOURIST SPOTS AND EXICITING ADVENTURE GAMES.

The nature is abundantly blessed Bhimtal and neighbouring places with its gift of gorgeous lakes, astonishing mountains, breath-taking rivers, wonders of valleys, awesome flora & fauna and etc. The nature is also conferred its authority to us to visualise, feel, enjoy and experience the excitement through different adventures.

1. BHIMTAL

a. Bhimtal lake is one of the famous lakes in India. There is an island at the centre of the Bhimtal lake and also a beautiful aquarium in the centre of the island. The pleasant Victoria Dam is on the bank of Bhimtal lake with the most attr flower gardens on the both sides of Victoria Dam. The beauty of the lake can be viewed from our YMCA Youth Centre.

b. Hanuman Garhi: The Hanuman Temple is situated at the height of 6401 ft and it will be incredible to watch the sunset over Himalayas.

c. Hidimba Parvat: A beautiful hill, located in 5 kms from Bhimtal. There is also a wildlife asylum called as Vankahdi Ashram for the conservation of the wild animals.

d. Bhimeswara Mahadev Temple: The temple is situated on the enhancement of Bhimtal lake.

e. Nal Damyanti: Nal Damayanti, a small natural lake, considered to be very scared place of the native people.

f. Karkotaka Temple: Karkotaka Temple is situated on the top of the hill and very famous for the devotees.

g. Folk Culture Museum: This museum explores about the amazing traditions, cultures and customs of the past with archaeological importance.

h. Shopping Zones: There are many types of shopping zones in Bhimtal in order to get jewellery, wood and metal crafts, carpets, statues, Garhwali paintings and numerous handmade mementos.

Apart from Bhimtal, there are lot of important places of wonders around Bhimtal town.

2. NAINITAL:

a. Naini Lake: It is situated in the middle of the town and is the lifeline of Nainital. Boating facilities are available.

b. Naina Peak: Naina Peak is the highest peak in Nainital with an average elevation of 2,615 meters above Mean Sea Level and has a famous trekking facility. The amazing panoramic views will be remembered in life time. Very beautiful place to watch the Sunrise and the Sun set.

c. Tiffin Top (Dorothy’s Seat): Located at the Aryapatta Hill at an average elevation of 2292 meters above Mean Sea Level and with the most breath-taking view of Himalayas and Nainital. Best place for Hiking.

d. St. John in the Wilderness: It is a Church established in 1844 and located in a hidden and serene amidst the deodar forests to Commemorate the victims of the landslide in 1880.

e. P.T. G.D. Pant High Altitude Zoo: Established at an average elevation of 2100 meters above Mean Sea Level. The Zoo contains several exotic species of animals and birds of this region. Snow Leopard, Himalayan Bear, Tibetan wolf and etc are among the endangered species. Best place for trekking and for the astronomical observation.

f. Snow view: One of the best view point located at an average elevation of 2270 meters above Mean Sea Level, reachable by the cable cars to view the snow-capped Himalayas with the major peaks Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot and Trishul. Suggested to have trekking.

g. Lands’ End: Picturesque location located at an average elevation of 2118 meters above Mean Sea Level, surrounded with hills and some beautiful trees including pine forest.

h. Kilbury Birds Sanctuary: Located at an average elevation of 2000 meters above Mean Sea Level with more than 240 different species of birds which are native and migratory. Best place for trekking and Bird watching.

i. Eco Cave Garden: The Garden Comprises of seven caves which can be reached through narrow and winding roads. Best place for the children to enjoy musical fountain and light show programme.

3. ALMORA:

In zero point, Binsar Wild Life Sanchary with amazing viewpoints are located. In addition to that Jageshwar Temple, Katarmal Sun Temple, Kasar Devi Temple, Chitali Temple are located. Gobind Vallabh Pant Museum, Regimental Centre Museum, Kalimath and etc, are the places need to be visited. Binsar Wild Life Sanchiary and Deer Park are important places to visit.

4. RANIKHET:

Following tourist spots are very attr and enjoyable. Chaubatia Orchards, Jhula Devi Temple, Majkhali Bhalu Dam, Kalika, Manila, Haidakhan Babaji Temple, Kumaon Regimental Centre, Mankameshwar Temple, Dwarahat, Ram Mandir Sunset point and Terihet Village.

5. MUKTESHWAR:

Need to observe and enjoy the beauty of Sitla, Chauliki Jali, Bhalu Gaad waterfalls, Mukteshwar Temple, Nanda Devi Peak, Ramgarh and many other attr places.

6. SATTAL:

Best tourist spots for your enjoyment are Seven Lakes, Subhash Dhara, Butterfly Museum and etc. Best place for trekking, fishing and kayaking adventurous games.

7. AULI:

There are many tourists’ places of attractions to witness and enjoy are Skiing, Gurso Bugyal view point, Kwani Bugyal, Trishul Peak, Chenab lake, Joshimath, Rudraprayag, Nandaprayag, Auli Rope Way and best place for challenging adventure for trekking.

8. NAUKUCHIATAL:

There is a beautiful lake for boating. Jungliagaon, Mukteshwar Hanuman / Vaishno Temple are famous attraction for devotees.

9. JIM CARBETT NATIONAL PARK:

There are many religious temples and places like Garija Temple, Durga Mandir Temple, Sitabani Temple, Gyan Yatra and Durga Devi Zone. Facility to enjoy Jungle Safari, Elephant ride, River Rafting, Angling and Fishing. There are many places to enjoy like Water Falls, Dhikala, Birjani, Koshy River and etc.

10. UTTARKHAND: In Uttarakhand, following are the very attr places.

Dehradun is one of the best hill stations in India. Mussorie is another hill station. Rishikesh is one of the famous Temples in India and Ghats. Uttarakhand is one of the Adventure spots. Haridwar is famous for temples, Kedarnath is ancient Temple located in Gahrwal Himalayan Ranges is considered to be one of the holiest pilgrimage Centres in India. Kedarnath Temple is one of the ancient temples situated in the midst of majestic mountains. Badrinath Temple is another famous and ancient temple located between Nar and Narayana Mountain Ranges in an altitude of 3133 metres and shadowed by Nilkanta Peak. The valley of flowers is more charming and attr.

There are many more places which have more natural beauty. Select the suitable places which gives more excitement and peace to your Soul.

There are many adventurous games exist in Bhimtal and other neighbouring places for excitement. Those are Paragliding, Kayaking, Boating & Fishing, Rock Climbing, Trekking, Rappelling, River Crossing, Swimming, Bird Watching and etc.

On request, necessary arrangements will be made for sightseeing and for adventure games including Camp Fire in our Campus.

PRECAUTIONS INITIATED TO PREVENT COVID 19

As per the guidelines of the Worlds Health Organisation, Health Ministry, Government of India and the National Council of YMCAs of India, all the precautions have been taken to fight against COVID 19.

1. Instructions have been given to the sanitary workers to sanitize the Administrative office, Family Rooms, Dormitories, Dining Hall, Conference Hall and all the Rest Rooms in frequent intervals to ensure safety.

2. Arrangements have been made with assistance of trained Medical Assistants to monitor all the Staff and Patrons with the thermal scanner at the entry point.

3. Entry into the campus is only permitted with hand sanitizers and face masks.

4. Instructions have been given to our staff to make necessary arrangements to have Social Distancing in Conference Hall, Dormitories, Dining Hall and Rest Rooms. That’s how we made all the arrangements for the safety of our people.
